I'm a former Youngstowner who enjoys the ability to get fresh produce on visits to the area. At the same time, there's a chance to chat with other shoppers and reconnect with folks from my hometown. Best of luck on the new venue!

Paco: Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I think it's a great new downtown event, and kudos to all those vendors who braved the weather.

Crseum: I've a hunch that the floating sunglasses, banana bread, and odds and ends all belonged to you? Just guessing. Good for you for staying through hail. Hail hurts [like hail, hee hee]!

Thanks also to Phil Kidd for circulating this post on very, very short notice.

Thanks for the shout out sweetie! Despite the torrential downpour, high winds and HAIL (oh yes there was hail), and slight collateral damage (sunglasses, banana bread and a few other odds and ends that floated off into the city) the first downtown farmer's market was a decided success! Props to the friendly, cheerful vendors who stuck it out.

This is great. Keep this activity humming in Y-town - all are welcome to the dance. I know there was a bit of a storm during the market - but the vendors hung in there. Tell your friends!
